Backend Developer (PHP/Symfony)

Let’s Talk is building WRQR: the SaaS platform that enables large retailers in Europe to manage complex subscriptions involving hardware. Think smartphones, laptops, and other devices that customers purchase through or with a subscription. We are growing rapidly and setting the tone in innovation.
Your mission: As a Backend Developer, you will play a key role in the further development of our platform. We are in the midst of a transition from legacy (CakePHP) to a modern architecture based on Shopware (Symfony). You will build smart solutions, contribute ideas about the architecture, and grow with us toward a state-of-the-art landscape. Whether you are a solid Medior ready for the next step or a Senior looking for technical depth, you will make an impact here.

What you will be doing: 
Your primary focus (80%)

  • Building & Innovating: You will be working on complex SaaS functionalities and custom software systems. Your focus will be on robust backend solutions within the Symfony framework.
  • Architecture: You will contribute ideas about technical choices and help build a scalable structure that is ready for international growth.
    Transition: You will contribute to the transition from our legacy systems to our new, modern Shopware (Symfony-based) environment.
  • Code Quality: You will write clean, testable code and perform code reviews to ensure quality together with your team.

Your broader contribution (20%)

  • Growing together: You share your knowledge with the team (approx. 15 developers) and also learn from your experienced colleagues. We believe in making each other better.
  • Technical Roadmap: You proactively contribute ideas on how we can improve our platform technically.
  • Collaboration: You liaise with the Product Owners and other teams to translate business requirements into technical reality.

What you bring to the table:
Must-have:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a professional Backend Developer (PHP).
  • Experience with the Symfony framework (and the desire to become an expert in it).
  • HBO/WO working and thinking level.
  • Experience working in complex data models or SaaS environments.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.

 

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Shopware 6.
    Knowledge of CakePHP (useful for legacy migration, not a must for development).
  • Experience in a SaaS or E-commerce environment.
  • Experience with Claude Code or other AI tools.
